Student internship at TOS
For two weeks, two high school students completed a student internship at the Chair for Technology of Optical Systems (TOS). In the process, they gained unique scientific insight into the everyday life of the chair and the working methods of TOS, as well as participated in exciting experiments.

Hannah and Neela decided to do an internship during their summer vacation and were allowed to get to know the working world of TOS. In the process, the schoolgirls, supervised by TOS employees, were allowed to get a taste of various specialist areas. For example, they took measurements with a laser, created a cell phone lens, implemented their own creative ideas with the 3D printer, and created a wooden box with the laser cutter and decorated it with a design.
“I'm thinking about studying physics or mechanical engineering, and the internship gave me an idea of what everyday work might be like later on. Everyone really put a lot of effort into it,” says Hannah. Neela even came all the way from California for the internship at TOS. In addition to visiting family, she wanted her stay to be educational.
