TOS on Tour in San Francisco!
We are happy to be part of the SPIE Photonics West 2023 again. For this year's conference, four of our colleagues will be travelling to San Francisco together with experts from Fraunhofer ILT and the Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University. The event features the latest developments in photonics research and technology.
Three of our scientific employees will have the opportunity to present their research results at the conference as well. Dr. Annika Völl, leader of our Computational Optics group, will talk about application-adapted beam shaping in laser materials processing. Robin Kurth also investigates the optimization of beam shaping. He is exploring a method that uses neural networks to generate phase masks. Nicole Grubert's presentation addresses challenges in the manufacturing of a fiber-based sensor for combustion chamber monitoring.
One of our students at the chair has the opportunity to accompany the scientists. Tobias König is attending Photonics West as part of a funding program for his master's thesis and will be able to gain exciting insights into the research presented at the conference.
